Dr. Coltharp is a Hattiesburg native and an honor graduate of Hattiesburg High School. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and completed medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi, graduating in 1978.
Dr. Coltharp’s postgraduate training was completed in General Surgery at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed his residency at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, Colorado in 1982.
He is a past and present member of numerous professional societies. He is a diplomat with the American Board of Otolaryngology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society of Head and Neck Surgery. He is past president of the Mississippi Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and has been included in the Best Doctors of America selection on numerous occasions since 1996.
Dr. Coltharp has over 30 years of private practice experience in ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery and his practice involves General Otolaryngology and Pediatric Otolaryngology, as well as Otolaryngic Allergy.
Dr. Coltharp especially enjoys Head & Neck Surgery. Most all of our surgery is performed in our fully accredited surgical center conveniently located at our office. Sinus surgery, tonsils, adenoids, and P.E. tubes are among some of his favorites.
In his leisure time, Dr. Coltharp enjoys hunting, fishing, training Labrador Retrievers, and most importantly spending time with family.
He is married to Teresa Lowery-Coltharp.
